All user-generated data (favorites, settings, progress) is persisted using AsyncStorage, which stores data locally on your device in the app's private sandbox. This data is:

Content API

The App fetches Bhagavad Gita text content (chapters, shlokas) from our hosted API server. These requests are read-only โ€” we do not send or store any user-specific data on the server. Standard network-level logs (IP address, request timestamp) may be retained temporarily by our hosting infrastructure as part of normal server operation and are not linked to individual users.

โš ๏ธ Note on Device Backups If you have device-level backup enabled (e.g., Google Drive backup on Android), your app data including favourites and preferences may be backed up by the OS. This is controlled by your device settings and is outside our control.
05

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party SDKs and services. Please review their respective privacy policies for details on their data practices:

Expo (Expo Go / EAS) The App is built with Expo. Expo may collect anonymised crash and diagnostic information. See expo.dev/privacy.
Google Play Services (Android) Required for core Android functionality and push notification delivery. See policies.google.com/privacy.
expo-notifications Used to schedule and deliver daily Shloka notifications locally on your device. No notification tokens are stored on our servers.
expo-av (Audio) Handles on-device audio playback for shloka recitations. No audio data is recorded or transmitted.
expo-sharing Allows you to share shloka text/images using your device's native share menu. We do not receive or store any data shared in this way.
