Gita Saar

Gita Saar (the "App") is a free, spiritual reading application that provides the complete text of the Bhagavad Gita with multilingual support (English, Hindi, and Gujarati), audio playback, Today's Shloka, continue-reading functionality, daily practice and streak/history features, favorites, notifications, sharing, curated topic collections, and local personalization settings.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses or stores, how it is used, and what choices you have. By using Gita Saar, you agree to the practices described below.

The App is operated by the individual developer listed in the Google Play Store ("we", "us", or "our"). The package identifier is com.gitasaar.app.

Gita Saar collects the minimum possible data. The table below describes every category:

All on-device data is used solely to provide and improve your experience within the App:

• Display your saved favourite shlokas across sessions.
• Remember your language, theme, font-size, notification-time, and available daily-content preferences.
• Deliver daily Shloka notifications at your chosen time.
• Track reading progress and support Continue Reading.
• Maintain daily completion, streak, and local practice history.
• Provide curated topic collections and daily content within the App.
• Prepare shloka text or share-card images for sharing through your device's native share functionality.

No user-generated data stored by the App is used for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any commercial purpose. If analytics, advertising, authentication, or cloud synchronization is added in a future version, this Privacy Policy and the applicable Google Play Data Safety information will be reviewed and updated before or when those features are introduced.

All user-generated data (favorites, settings, progress) is persisted using AsyncStorage, which stores data locally on your device in the app's private sandbox. This data is:

• Not accessible to other apps on the device.
• Automatically removed if you uninstall the App.
• Not intentionally uploaded to or synced with a server under our control.

Content API

The App fetches Bhagavad Gita content, including chapters, shlokas, meanings, and curated content, from our hosted API server. These requests are read-only and the App does not intentionally send favorites, reading progress, streak/history, or personalization settings to the API as part of these content requests. Standard network-level logs, such as IP address and request timestamp, may be processed or retained temporarily by our hosting infrastructure for security, reliability, and normal server operation. Such technical logs are not intentionally used by us to identify individual users.

The App uses the following third-party SDKs and services. Please review their respective privacy policies for details on their data practices:

We do not use any third-party advertising SDKs, analytics platforms (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel), or data brokers.

The App can send you a Daily Shloka notification as a reminder for your reading or spiritual practice. You can choose the notification time and enable or disable this feature. Notifications are:

• Scheduled locally on your device — no server involvement at delivery time.
• Fully optional — you can enable or disable them at any time from the Profile screen.
• Not used to deliver advertisements or promotional content.

You can also revoke notification permission at any time via your device's system settings (Settings → Apps → Gita Saar → Notifications).

Gita Saar includes optional features designed to make devotional reading easier to continue from day to day. These features are designed to work with local app data and do not require an account.

Daily Practice & Streaks

If you use the daily practice feature, the App may store completion state, streak information, and related reading history locally on your device. This information is used only to display your practice progress within the App and is not intentionally uploaded to our servers.

Personalization

The App may store your preferred language, font size, theme, notification time, and available daily-content preferences locally. These settings are used to customize the reading experience and are not intentionally sent to our content API.

Sharing Shlokas

Gita Saar can create or prepare a consistent share card containing information such as a shloka, its reference, translation or meaning, and Gita Saar branding. Sharing is performed through the operating system's native share mechanism. Gita Saar does not receive a copy of the content after you choose a destination app.

Gita Saar does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). The App contains no age-restricted content, no social features, and no accounts. Since we do not collect personally identifiable information from any user, the App is safe for all ages.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have inadvertently collected information about a child, please contact us immediately using the details in Section 10 so we can address your concern.

Because all data is stored locally on your device and no personally identifiable information is collected by us, you already hold full control over your data:

• Access & Portability: All your data lives in the App's local storage on your device — you can inspect it at any time.
• Deletion: Uninstall the App to permanently delete all data from your device.
• Correction: You can edit or remove favourites and reset settings directly in the App.
• Opt-out of Notifications: Toggle off notifications in the Profile screen or revoke permission through system settings.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or California (CCPA), the above rights already comply with applicable data protection regulations given our no-PII data model. If you have additional requests, contact us via the details in Section 10.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality or applicable law. When we do, we will:

• Update the Last Updated date at the top of this page.
• Post the revised policy at this URL before the changes take effect.

Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
