Gita Saar

Gita Saar (the "App") is a free, spiritual reading application that provides the complete text of the Bhagavad Gita with multilingual support (English, Hindi, and Gujarati), audio playback, daily shloka notifications, favorites, and reading-progress tracking.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses or stores, how it is used, and what choices you have. By using Gita Saar, you agree to the practices described below.

The App is operated by the individual developer listed in the Google Play Store ("we", "us", or "our"). The package identifier is com.gitasaar.app.

Gita Saar collects the minimum possible data. The table below describes every category:

All on-device data is used solely to provide and improve your experience within the App:

• Display your saved favourite shlokas across sessions.
• Remember your language, theme, and font-size preferences.
• Deliver daily Shloka notifications at your chosen time.
• Track which chapters and shlokas you have already read.

No data is used for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any commercial purpose.

All user-generated data (favorites, settings, progress) is persisted using AsyncStorage, which stores data locally on your device in the app's private sandbox. This data is:

• Not accessible to other apps on the device.
• Automatically removed if you uninstall the App.
• Not backed up to any server under our control.

Content API

The App fetches Bhagavad Gita text content (chapters, shlokas) from our hosted API server. These requests are read-only — we do not send or store any user-specific data on the server. Standard network-level logs (IP address, request timestamp) may be retained temporarily by our hosting infrastructure as part of normal server operation and are not linked to individual users.

The App uses the following third-party SDKs and services. Please review their respective privacy policies for details on their data practices:

We do not use any third-party advertising SDKs, analytics platforms (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel), or data brokers.

The App can send you a Daily Shloka notification as a reminder for your spiritual practice. Notifications are:

• Scheduled locally on your device — no server involvement at delivery time.
• Fully optional — you can enable or disable them at any time from the Profile screen.
• Not used to deliver advertisements or promotional content.

You can also revoke notification permission at any time via your device's system settings (Settings → Apps → Gita Saar → Notifications).

Gita Saar does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). The App contains no age-restricted content, no social features, and no accounts. Since we do not collect personally identifiable information from any user, the App is safe for all ages.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have inadvertently collected information about a child, please contact us immediately using the details in Section 10 so we can address your concern.

Because all data is stored locally on your device and no personally identifiable information is collected by us, you already hold full control over your data:

• Access & Portability: All your data lives in the App's local storage on your device — you can inspect it at any time.
• Deletion: Uninstall the App to permanently delete all data from your device.
• Correction: You can edit or remove favourites and reset settings directly in the App.
• Opt-out of Notifications: Toggle off notifications in the Profile screen or revoke permission through system settings.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or California (CCPA), the above rights already comply with applicable data protection regulations given our no-PII data model. If you have additional requests, contact us via the details in Section 10.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality or applicable law. When we do, we will:

• Update the Last Updated date at the top of this page.
• Post the revised policy at this URL before the changes take effect.

Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
